Sunday school

Children feature prominently in the church’s life and regularly take part in services.

This is a tradition dating at least from the 1960s when the vicar, David Jarvis, held extremely popular services run by children for children.

During most Sunday services, an infant crèche is available at 11 a.m. for 1 hour. This is a fun activity group for our younger children to partake in on Sunday mornings.

For the older children, Sunday School is offered on a regular basis, where children are encouraged to actively consider questions and answers around the Christian faith.

There is, and always has been, a close association with the Church of England Primary School which is attached to the church and adjoins the building. The school was founded under the auspices of the church’s most celebrated vicar, Edward Bickersteth, in 1855.

Christ Church Primary School is a small village school amidst the hustle and bustle of the London metropolis. We are very proud of our happy children, cohesive school community, broad curriculum and high attainment.

If you intend to apply for a place for your child at the church Primary School, you can obtain details of the various criteria for admission from the school's website.
