O Lord Jesus Christ, who at your first coming sent your messenger to prepare your way before you: grant that the ministers and stewards of your mysteries may likewise so prepare and make ready your way by turning the hearts of the disobedient to the wisdom of the just, that at your second coming to judge the world we may be found an acceptable people in your sight; for you are alive and reign with the Father in the unity of the Holly Spirit, one God, now and for ever.
I Thessalonians 5:16-24, John 1:1-6, 19-28.
Let us pray -
That through the preaching of the word and through the water of Baptism God's people may be gathered into one body.
Make us messengers of the Gospel in our daily lives.
Have mercy on all who suffer in body, mind and spirit. We pray especially for the sick, for Mary Maxwell and Paul Evans.
We give thanks for the departed. May they rest in peace and may light perpetual shine upon them. We pray for the soul of Zaki, recently dead.
